Alice Springs Series

This series was made while on an artists in schools program in the Northern Territory for three months.

Showing my painted backdrop representing Aboriginal  and European symbolism.

During this time my mother was dying and I had the commitment to make the artwork for the residency, which brought up powerful        emotions for me.

The grave-stone is a monument up against the Aboriginal rock with Caterpillar Dreaming rock surrounding Alice Springs.

In Arabic mythology camels take the spirit of the dead person into the next world.

I had access to a camel farm. Here the actor/models are my students and my dance teacher.
